held in Warsaw, 1 -4 March, 2011.

Michał Siciarek will be training in the second edition in May, 2011.

The training is intended for a wide group of addressees such as prosecuting authorities, customs officers, prosecutors, judges and Polish administration experts dealing with IP-related matters.

The issues approached at the training include those of counterfeiting and piracy in the European Union with a special emphasis on Poland. The principal objective is to provide additional knowledge and enhance participants’ skills on operational practices and strategies of detection, identification and seizure of counterfeit products.

The training is part of a wider project: FAKES under the auspices of  Transcrime – Joint research centre on transnational crime, Università degli Studi di Trento – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano; GACG – Global Anti-Counterfeiting Network; UNICRI – United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute. The project is focused on three new EU Member States: Czech Republic, Poland and Romania because of their key role of external border countries and transit nations in counterfeited products’ detection, identification and seizure.
